چکیده

Following in a vein similar to [Zhao et al., 2001], the goal of this project is to develop fast and accurate schemes to reconstruct shapes from unorganised data-sets using variational level set methods. The approach followed is based primarily on the gradient-flow scheme derived in class from variational considerations, and uses implementation details borrowed from [Zhao, 2004, Osher and Fedkiw, 2002]. Most notably, unlike the convection model followed in [Zhao et al., 2001], this current treatment also includes the curvature-based term (on the right hand side of Eq. (6)) neglected in their earlier work. Given an arbitrary set S = {points, curves, surfaces in N dimensions}, the basic problem at hand is the determination of an N dimensional surface Γ which minimises the error defined by

2D Image-based reconstruction of shape deformation of biological structures using a level-set representation

This paper copes with the reconstruction of accretionary growth sequence from images of bi2 ological structures depicting concentric ring patterns. Accretionary growth shapes are modeled as the level-sets of a potential function. Given an image of a biological structure, the recon4 struction of the sequence of growth shapes is stated as a variational issue derived from geometric criteria. This ...

FUZZY BOUNDED SETS AND TOTALLY FUZZY BOUNDED SETS IN I-TOPOLOGICAL VECTOR SPACES

In this paper, a new definition of fuzzy bounded sets and totallyfuzzy bounded sets is introduced and properties of such sets are studied. Thena relation between totally fuzzy bounded sets and N-compactness is discussed. Finally, a geometric characterization for fuzzy totally bounded sets in I- topologicalvector spaces is derived.

Dynamic Cone-Beam Reconstruction Using a Variational Level Set Formulation

Tomographic reconstruction from cone-beam X-ray data is only solved for static objects, e. g. the abdomen. In cardiac imaging, a rotational angiography sequence takes approx. 5 s and therefore spans several heart beats. Since such an acquisition scheme forces a trade-off between consistency of the scene and reasonable angular spacings between camera positions, standard reconstruction techniques...

Dynamic Cone Beam Reconstruction Using a New Level Set Formulation

This paper addresses an approach toward tomographic reconstruction from rotational angiography data as it is generated by C-arms in cardiac imaging. Since the rotational acquisition scheme forces a trade-off between consistency of the scene and reasonable baselines, most existing reconstruction techniques fail at recovering the 3D + t scene. We propose a new reconstruction framework based on va...

Fast Surface Reconstruction Using the Level Set Method

In this paper we describe new formulations and develop fast algorithms for implicit surface reconstruction based on variational and partial differential equation (PDE) methods. In particular we use the level set method and fast sweeping and tagging methods to reconstruct surfaces from scattered data set. The data set might consist of points, curves and/or surface patches. A weighted minimal sur...
